Woman Dies at Scene of I-15 Accident

An early morning minor two-car accident on I-15 turned deadly after one of the two drivers was struck by a third car.  NHP reported that the third vehicle came upon the accident, lost control after hitting road debris and then struck one of the drivers as she should stood outside her vehicle checking for damage.

The 22-year-old female was declared dead at scene. Read the full News 3 story here: Woman in minor I-15 accident killed when 3rd car hits vehicle.

What to do after a car accident on I-15?

Secondary accidents like this are tragic and sadly not uncommon. The following are three safety precautions drivers should take if they are ever in a minor accident on a busy highway or road that does not involve serious injuries:
  1. DO NOT get out of your car and stand around on a busy road to exchange information.
  2. If no one is injured, move out of traffic and then call 911 and exchange information.
  3. If a driver and / or passenger is injured, do not move cars. Each person involved should stay in their car with headlights and flashers turned on (if there are not any fuel leaks).  A call should be made to 911 and a police report citing all injuries should be obtained.
