Female Pedestrian Dies in Las Vegas Hit-and-Run Accident

Teenager Injured Crossing Street to Board School Bus

Woman Dies at Scene of I-15 Accident

An early morning minor two-car accident on I-15 turned deadly after one of the two drivers was struck by a third car.  NHP reported that the third vehicle came upon the accident, lost control after hitting road debris and then struck one of the drivers as she should stood outside her vehicle checking for damage.

Trike Motorcycle Collides with Las Vegas School Bus

A Friday morning bus ride for Las Vegas students was stopped abruptly when a trike motorcycle collided with the bus on the southwest side of town.  Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) is investigating the accident that resulted in both motorcycle riders being taken to local hospitals for injuries.

Two Semi-trucks Collide on Nevada Interstate 15

Aside from creating traffic delays, semi-truck accidents can be some of the worst vehicle accidents on any Nevada roadway. Luckily, a recent semi-truck crash that occurred on Interstate 15 only resulted in minor injuries and 25 gallons of spilled diesel fuel on the interstate.

73-Year-Old Man Dies in Las Vegas Motorcycle Accident

A Las Vegas motorcycle ride turned deadly for a 73-year-old man. He was reported to have been driving down the road when a vehicle turned in front of him resulting in a fatal collision.

Nevada Interstate 15 Traffic Incident Ends with Shooting

There are many road hazards that drivers on long-stretches of interstate highways may experience: slick or dangerous road conditions, tire blowouts, car accidents and extreme weather. Another is other aggressive and possibly dangerous drivers.  Recent travelers driving to Las Vegas from California were victims of an aggressively violent traffic incident off of an Interstate 15 (I-15) exit.

As stated in a Las Vegas Review Journal article, one vehicle was seen tailgating another on I-15.  The driver who was being tailgated exited the highway, parked at a gas station and then they, and one of their passengers, got out of their vehicle.  The driver of the second vehicle followed them off the highway, got out of his vehicle, shot the passenger in the abdomen and then left the scene.

The driver who fled was located and apprehended at a Las Vegas hotel within hours of the violent traffic incident off I-15 in Primm, Nevada.

Eight Injured in North Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident

Pedestrian accidents occur all too frequently. However, it's not usual for a large group of people to be run down all at once. On a Thursday night in North Las Vegas, an 18-year-old female drove into a group of eight pedestrians who were attempting to cross Losee Road. Victims injured in the North Las Vegas pedestrian accident aged from 15 - 57 years old.

Las Vegas Man Changing Tire Hit by Suspected Drunk Driver

63-year-old Killed in DUI-related Pedestrian Accident

A 26-year-old male faces criminal charges for suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs and / or alcohol after a fatal pedestrian accident. Reports state that a 63-year old Las Vegas man was standing on the side of the road prior to being hit and fatally injured.

1-15 Tractor-Trailer Roll Over Accident Injures Two

A tractor-trailer heading southbound on Interstate 15 (I-15) rolled over resulting in traffic delays and leaving two motorists injured. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, after the tractor-trailer rolled into the center median it spilled debris onto the road blocking traffic.

A 35-year-old male bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after a fatal collision with a tractor-trailer truck.  Nevada Highway Patrol stated that the bicyclist fell under the large truck as the driver attempted to pass him.

One Fatality and Two Injured After Three-car Crash on Nevada Highway

A 23-year-old female driver crashed into a parked tow-truck that was parked and loading another vehicle on the shoulder of U.S. 95. After she hit the tow-truck she swerved back in to traffic and crashed into another vehicle.

Two People were Injured in Three-Alarm Las Vegas Apartment Fire

(June 17, 2013) Las Vegas, NV -- An apartment fire in Las Vegas, Nevada displaced 70 people and caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to the 24 unit, three story apartment building. Two residents were injured during their escape of the burning building.

Lake Mead boater pulled over for suspicion of OUI arrested

A female boater was arrested for operating a boat while under the influence at Lake Mead NRA this past Friday. She was given a sobriety field test after a Lake Mead game warden noticed she was having difficulty docking her boat and appeared to be intoxicated.

Diver Dies in Accident at Lake Mead NRA

(June 3, 2013) Las Vegas -- A Las Vegas man was pronounced dead over the weekend after a fatal scuba accident at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Southern Nevada. The 52-year-old man surfaced after a dive unresponsive and was non-responsive to CPR.

Nevada Traffic Fatalities Count at 108

Las Vegas, Nevada (May 29, 2013) -- The Nevada Department of Transportation is promoting a "Zero Fatalities" safe roads program to help reduce the number of  Nevada traffic fatalities in 2013.  There were an estimated 258 traffic fatalities that occurred on Nevada roads in 2012.

As of today, there have been 108 Nevada traffic fatalities.  Motorist are being asked to do their part to help keep this number from increasing by: focusing on the road, clicking your seat belt, watching out for pedestrians, stopping on red, and not driving impaired or distracted.

Nevada I-15 weekend lane closure after driver collides into NHP vehicle

A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and a driver who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, were sent to the hospital after their cars collided on I-15 over the weekend. The impact from the vehicle collision caused both cars to spin out and resulted in multiple lane closures.

Work Vehicle Crashes into Sedan on Nevada I-15 Resulting in Traffic Delays and Injuries

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) states that a 28-year-old male driver was traveling southbound on I-15 when a commercial truck slammed into the back of his sedan.  Both drivers were taken to University Medical Center (UMC) for injuries as a result of the early morning freeway vehicle crash at Blue Diamond Road.

Henderson woman struck by semi-truck died from fatal injuries

A 37-year-old Henderson, Nevada woman died from fatal injuries received after she was struck by a semi-truck.  According to the Nevada Highway Patrol she was walking southbound along U.S. 95 when she was hit.

A driver heading northbound in the southbound lanes on Nevada I-15 near North Las Vegas collided head-on with another vehicle. The head-on car crash resulted in one passenger and both drivers being killed.

A sleeping family of six were alerted to their home being on fire when a passerby used their car horn to alert them of danger. The northwest Las Vegas home was left uninhabitable by the fire leaving the family homeless.

A kitchen fire in Las Vegas, NV, causes $75,000 worth of damage. LV Fire fighters were able to contain the stove top fire quickly.

One teenager killed and one left critically injured in Mother's Day car wreck

Early Mother's Day car wreck results in one teenager dead and another with critical injuries after a traffic collision in North Las Vegas.  Officers arrested an 18-year-old male for failure to use due care and failure to obey traffic control devices.  Evidence found at the scene suggests that the at-fault driver ran a stop sign before colliding with the other vehicle.

Reckless driving may have caused deadly I-15 rollover

A fatal rollover accident involving a pick-up truck closed southbound traffic on I-15 near Sloan, Nevada, for a few hours this morning. The truck is reported to have been traveling northbound when it crossed the center median into southbound traffic, rolled and ejected the 21-year-old male driver.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP). The cause of the accident is under investigation, but preliminary reports state that a mix of reckless driving and no seat belt may have contributed to the deadly one vehicle wreck. Las Vegas Tourist Hit by Motorcycle was Critically Injured

A Las Vegas tourist from San Angelo, TX, was critically injured after he was hit by a 21-year-old male motorcyclist while he attempted to cross Flamingo Road a few blocks east of the Las Vegas Strip. The pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit around 3 a.m. on May 8, 2013. The motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike after impact.

Wheelchair Rider Fatality is 41st Traffic-Related Death in 2013 for LV Metro PD

Tragedy strikes the southwest valley of Las Vegas after a 56-year-old man was hit by a driver as he attempted to cross an intersection in his motorized wheelchair.  Reports state that another vehicle had stopped to let the man cross and that the driver of a Chrysler 300 kept going and collided with him.

Wrong-Way Car Crash on Nevada Highway Results in 4 Fatalities

Less than two hours before midnight on Sunday four people lost their lives in a head-on car crash on U.S. 95, about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. Both vehicles caught fire making it difficult for authorities to identify the driver of the Buick and the three victims of the van they hit.

Fatal Single-Car Accident in North Las Vegas

An early morning car accident in North Las Vegas resulted in one death and a serious injury.  The 22-year-old female driver was thrown from the car and rushed to UMC with severe injuries. The 23-year-old male passenger was killed.

Nevada Woman was Killed in Backyard after Wolf Dog Attack

A Pahrump, Nevada woman was killed in 2007 after she walked into her son's backyard and was attacked by eight hybrid wolf/dog.  Although these hybrid dogs are legal to own in Pahrump, wildlife experts have stated they are still part wolf and therefore may be more unpredictable and potentially more aggressive by nature.

Driver of Multi-Car Accident in front of Las Vegas College Fled Scene

Driver of a stolen Silver Volkswagen caused a multi-car accident in front of UNLV and then fled the scene. According to an article released by The Rebel Yell, no significant injuries were reported.

Girl Burned in Parking Lot from Las Vegas Apartment Fire

A young girl was burned by an ember that landed on her forearm as she watched firefighters put out an apartment complex fire caused by a Las Vegas man. The 53-year-old male was charged with first-degree arson that also resulted in mostly external damage to four units.

A 58-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and critically injured.  The accident occurred on the Las Vegas Strip after midnight when overall visibility conditions are generally lower.

Man Fatally Injured after Rear-Ended by Drunk Driver

A man was killed in North Las Vegas after a 27-year-old female, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, collided with the back of his vehicle causing him to crash into a light pole.
