Teenage Drinking and Driving Statistics
According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): one in 10 teens in high school drink and drive, close to one million high school aged teens drank and drove in 2011, and high school teens drink and then drive about 2.4 million times a month. Even though these numbers have gone down from 22 years ago, they are still too high.
Suggested teen drinking and driving prevention measures include:
- Increased parent involvement
- Zero tolerance laws
- Stricter enforcement of minimum legal drinking age (MDLA) laws
- Graduated new driver privileges
