Female Pedestrian Dies in Las Vegas Hit-and-Run Accident

A Las Vegas Metro Police officer stated the fatal pedestrian accident occurred right before 9:00 p.m.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has reported over 35 pedestrian fatalities in 2013. This is a 3% increase from previous years (2011 and 2012).

To help reduce the number of pedestrian deaths, LVMPD shared the following pedestrian safety tips:
  • Make yourself visible.
  • Cross streets safely.
  • Make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
  • Obey traffic controls at intersections.
  • Do not walk distracted, put phones away.
  • Hold kid's hands and pet's leashes to keep them from running into traffic.
